BIL Lesson 7
“The Promised Incarnation”
1. Gen 3:15 “And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, between thy seed and her seed, he shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.”
“And I will put enmity between thee and the woman”
Enmity- the state or feeling of being actively opposed or hostile to someone or something.
Satan despises women
“I will put enmity between thy seed and her seed”
Satan’s seed is anyone who is not a follower of Jesus
Woman’s seed is Christ
The world hates Jesus
“The seed of woman”
A prophecy that a woman would give birth without the “seed” of a man
“He shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel”
Head represents authority (Jesus took the authority from Satan)
It says in the bible that the earth is God’s foot stool (Satan constantly attacks the church)
2. Universal man craves union with the Diety because he was created in God’s image with the ability to partake of God’s life.
3. Incarnation has been believed in by all tribes of people in some form (drinking blood of human sacrifices, naming kings after gods, claiming that kings were gods, demi-gods)
Did Satan understand God’s plan for Redemption? How do we know?
He did not because he would not have crucified Christ.
4. Satan seeks to destroy the knowledge of God on the earth and to destroy a righteous line in humanity.
a. Cain and Abel
b. Ishmael and Isaac
c. Esau and Jacob
d. Brothers and Joseph
5. Cain and Abel
6. Cainites were evil and the Sethites were the righteous line
7. The 7th descendant of Cain was Lamech, he was an evil man and a murderer
The 7th descendant of Seth was Enoch, a man who pleased God
8. Special attention was given in Chapter five to the line of Seth in order to show us that God’s dealings were with this line. This was the righteous line. (Jesus comes from this line)
9. Satan wanted to corrupt the line through which the Redeemer shall come to such an extent that only Noah is left in the worship of the Covenant God.
10. If the flood wouldn’t have happened then the Incarnation wouldn’t have happened. The earth would’ve continued to grow more and more corrupt until the knowledge of God was completely absent from the earth.
